Night in Stratford

Last night I went to see Richard II in Stratford with my theatre class. It was really cool to see a play written by Shakespeare in Shakespeare's hometown. We got there 1 hour early so my friends and I got to walk around, even though everything was closed. We did find a coffee shop open so we went in and got some hot chocolate. The people working at the coffee shop asked where I was from. I said that I was from Kentucky, and then the girl behind the counter said, "Oh, like Kentucky Fried Chicken?" I cracked up! Then we headed back to the theatre. On our way back we passed by a fountain that commemorated Stratford's 800th Anniversary. That is VERY old!

The play was very good, even though it was hard to understand because I had never read the play before and it was Shakespeare. The theatre itself was very neat because no person was more than 10 meters away from the stage. There wasn't a bad seat in the house. The play lasted 3 hours and we didn't get back to Harlaxton until 12:30 this morning. It was so neat though!
